Candace and Kristin met at the University of Alberta in 2011, while volunteering as presentation facilitators for the Orientation program. Shortly after, Kristin recruited Candace to their fraternity, Alpha Gamma Delta, and they have been rather inseparable ever since. Candace is Kristin's voice of reason, big cheerleader, soulmate. Kristin could never imagine doing anything this significant in life without her. 🌹
Fraser and Graham first met in 2015 while working at X92.9 in Calgary. What started as a "work buds" very quickly grew into a truly special friendship and bond that was cemented in a shared love of Dungeons & Dragons, hockey (even though he's a Flames fan), and a deeply silly sense of humor that has made their respective partners Charmaine and Kristin share looks of deep love and exasperation.
Lovesperation, if you will.
Hannah is Kristin's youngest sister (and youngest sibling). She is one of Kristin's favourite people on the entire planet. Hannah keeps things real, and inspires Kristin to be a good role model, while being a role model for Kristin in turn, despite the age difference. She's the most likely to bring the party vibe, and is the best hype woman for both bride and groom. 🥳
Nicole is Kristin's younger sister (and Hannah's older sister). The built-in best friend in childhood, Kristin and Nicole grew up sharing a bedroom, then clothes, then first jobs in West Edmonton Mall, and more together. Nicole has always been the jock to Kristin's geek, and it's struck a balance their whole lives together. She, along with Candace, has been invaluable in sharing wedding planning advice, since she did it first. 😁
Victoria (also known as Vicky, or simply V) and Graham met in Calgary when Graham moved into the same apartment complex in Calgary's Mission Neighborhood in 2016. Quickly striking up a friendship, they've played hundreds of hours of Dungeons & Dragons together, gone to countless local shows across Calgary's indie music scene, and watched the sun go down (and occasionally come back up) on more than a few evenings around a campfire.
We really can't imagine anyone but Nathan officiating our wedding. One of Graham's friends from high school, they lost touch for ten years before reconnecting in 2022 -- and the two have been making each other laugh uncontrollably ever since. Nathan is also Millie and Opal's favourite dogsitter on occasions when we've been out of town (including our engagement trip!).
Hilary is Kristin and Graham's niece, Nicole (and her husband Jordon)'s daughter. Truly one of the funniest and sassiest almost-four-year-olds you'll meet. Also known as Hillbilly, Hillbus, Hill-O-Saurus
Mister Malcolm is Kristin's nephew, Candace (and her husband Finbarr)'s son. With an infectious laugh and great big heart, we are so happy to have M be a part of our celebration.
